November's Gemstone: Citrine

One of the most frequently asked question at our store when someone is choosing a gift is, “What is the gemstone for this month?” Whether you are looking for a gift for birthdays, anniversaries, or anything special during a particular month, most people want to know what stone is significant for that month. November’s stone is Citrine. It is the birthstone for November as well as the traditional anniversary gemstone for the 13^th wedding anniversary. Citrine comes in vivid yellows and oranges, and can also be found in the unusual “Madeira red”. Citrine can be found in Brazil, Spain, Russia, France, Scotland, and the USA. Its name actually comes from an old French world for lemon – “citrin”.
